What is Intimacy Realized all about? I am passionate about helping others learn how to grow deeper in their ongoing relationship of intimacy with Jesus Christ. We all get 'stuck' from time to time. Through the guidance of Scripture and the patterns we see in the life of Jesus, we can grow deeper and experience more in our journey with God. It is a lifelong process, but I would love to help you take steps forward in your journey.After 30 years in ministry, marriage, family and maintaining life...I found myself in a dark place (not a bad place!) not knowing how to really change and grow from this point on. God led me to some green pastures and quiet streams that brought restoration to me and He continues to do so daily.
No matter where you are in your journey, God wants to guide you to more intimacy with Himself so you can live the abundant life He died to give you.
Here are a few questions and a summary that may help you discern if you are ready for spiritual direction:
- Do you desire a deeper relationship and intimacy with God?
- Do you find yourself feeling increasingly dry in your spiritual life?
- Are you seeking to discern God’s will and His movement and direction in your life?
- Are you longing for greater integration between your inner life and outer life?
Spiritual direction provides scheduled time with a director, who comes alongside and listens with you while encouraging you to attend to the Holy Spirit in the transformation process.
David Benner in His book “Sacred Companions” defines classic spiritual direction as “an ancient form of Christian soul care that goes back to the earliest days of the church. [It] is a one-on-one relationship organized around prayer and conversation directed toward deepening intimacy with God….spiritual directors... do not follow a standardized curriculum or implement a prepackaged program.... And most important, they seek to help those with whom they journey to discern the presence and leading of the Spirit of God-the One Jesus sent as our true spiritual director. (Pg. 17)
