"Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my sighing. Listen to my cry for help,
my King and my God, for to You I pray.
In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation."
(Psalm 5)
As you come to Jesus today, be silent for a few moments as you wait, expecting the Lord to tend to the soil of your soul. Pour out your heart and then be still; wait expectantly. Don't judge this time. Don't evaluate it. Rest in it. Be quiet. Breathe deeply as you rest in the knowledge of His sovereignty and love.
Once again, Lord, my heart is heavy and sad as I have had to say good-bye to family and friends.
ReplyDeleteYET...this morning you will hear my voice, you will give ear to my words and consider my sighings and I will wait expectantly for you to graciously and so faithfully restore my joy and strength!
God and I talked this morning. Sorry, Grace, I wasn't too silent. I'll work on that one. I'm heading to the beach. I'll take God with me! I am really enjoying my time with God!
ReplyDeleteOh Myra (she is on her way back to Portugal), I know the pain. It actually hurts physically in the gut. I will be praying for you all day. Janet, I love your honesty. Have fun at the beach:)
ReplyDeleteThis morning my quiet time was interrupted wiht the pitter patter of little feet - at 5:30 am!! How early must I rise to have this time! OH, Lord, please help me to not be downtrodden and upset when our time is interrupted. Let me rejoice that we shared a brief moment and fully embrace the blessings of little feet, for she will not be little for long, nor appreciate my attention and desire to be held by her mommy!
ReplyDeleteToday in the quiet, while I tried to listen, God reminded me of breath prayers - saying a simple sentence as I often as I breath throughout the day. I'm going to try to do that today - "Lord Jesus, have mercy on me!" (I too am praying for you today, Myra! love you!)
ReplyDeleteBrenda, I remember getting frustrated by the same thing...remember, Jesus said, "let the little children come." He understands the interruption and even invites it. Don't be discouraged my friend.
