Day 3

When we open God's Word to do our Bible study, we often are looking for information; when we come to the garden to rest in the presence of the Lord, we are longing for transformation. His Spirit is renewing us to be more like Him.  So as you 'remain in His Word' today, read slowly, carefully and reflectively. Read it a few times and listen for a phrase or thought that stands out to you. What is the Word saying to you today? How will you respond? Listen carefully.
Psalm 27:8 "My heart says of you, "Seek His face! Your face, Lord, I will seek."

  1. If you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay on earth; knowing the you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.
    1 Peter 1:17-19

Meditating on this, offering specific words and prayers of thanksgiving for everything it tells me about me and my relationship with Jesus.

I can address my Creator as Father...Abba. That in itself is beyond understanding. Beyond beyond.

Jesus, the perfect One, redeemed me from the empty way of life I was handed. Prayers for loved ones who still don't know that real life, the abundant life, is only in Christ, not in wealth or comfort, or education, or looks or status. Everything else is futile. God help me to see when I am clinging to those things that are just an empty bag. Help me to know that you are my all in all so that my soul can rest in peace.

Thank you LORD that you are the perfect, unblemished Lamb of God and that you laid down your life for me. You took on all of my sin and the sin of all of mankind. How that must have felt on top of the incredible suffering you were experiencing at the hands of men. Men who treated you with ignorance, violence, brutality, mockery, cruelty. you were stripped, beaten, ridiculed and murdered. And yet you went on with your journey, your mission for me. Obedient to death to your Father. Humbled to the lowest of low. Empty of yourself. King, Lord, Creator, Master. You continued on in obedience, with grace, with carefully chosen words, and ultimately with perfect love. You paid the price that I could never ever pay.

O how I love you precious Savior. Humble King. Lion and Lamb. Alpha and Omega. My hope is in You Lord. MY hope is in You.

  2. When you bow down before the Lord and admit your dependence on Him, he will lift you up and give you honor...
    James 4:10
The honor I receive from you Lord is just being in your presence and the privilege of hearing from you through your word.
    Thank you Father.

  3. Lord thank you for carrying me through each part of my day - I can't imagine life without you. As I am quiet and still - I am remembering Hume and the fear I had on that high adventure course - I kept Praising You and Giving Thanks to You and my heart was reasurred that You were with me each step that I took - I had nothing to fear. Thank you for Psalm 63 verse 8 - "My soul clings to you; your righthand upholds me." I praise you as you carry me through my day.
