Day 21

They say it takes three weeks to make a new habit. We have hit the three week mark! How are you doing?Of course, this isn't about what we do on the outside, but what God's grace is doing on the inside. Going through the motions out of duty is simply hypocrisy and God hates it. Honestly giving our hearts to God, no matter what it looks like on the outside, is what counts. Listen to Jesus' clear mandate on this from Luke 11;

"Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside you
are full of greed and wickedness. You fools!
Did not He who made the outside make the inside also?
But give as alms those things that are within, and behold, everything
is clean for you."
Only the washing of the Word can cleanse us from the inside so we honor God with all that we are. Our giving our 'alms' means we give up our greed and wicked, selfish hearts, out of love for our generous, holy Father. What's on the inside of your cup?

  1. Spending time these days going through Ephesians 5:21-32. I am not married, but this passage also deals with washing...."Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her with the washing of water through the word and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless." I am in awe of the way the Holy Spirit moves and works in us and in all we come in contact with to make us aware of what we are learning and needing to learn. Be Still. Be washed in the Word. On the journey to holiness. Our Lord is awesome and beautiful.

  2. Be Still, drink in His word and be washed from the inside out. Our beauty truly does come from the inside, I love that because in this world we live in, true inside beauty in hard to find because we are stopped by the outward and don't seek to go deeper. Father, may we continue to seek and find You and to always go deeper for the true beauty of You, in others.
